An HBO production has become one of the best TV shows I have seen and definitely my favourite form of enterteinment. Entourage is a cooperatice production of the HBO television distributor and TV programmes producer which is famous for the large range of celebrities taking part in the shootings, the interesting and fascinating plot that reveals the life of the big names in the industry and enriches the ideas of people of how celebrities live.

All of the episodes are centred around Vince, a movie star with great success among movie fans, who lives with his older brother and two best friends. These people are living on the extremes, spending their free time partying in the gorgeous area of LA, getting luxury spa treatments like Omnilux blue light therapy, and all living on Vince’s income. The episodes give the audince another closer look -they can observe the pressure, the amount of work and the resposibilities in the industry of film -making. In the face of the famous agent Harry Gold, there can be observed the features of a person who aims to perfection. Ruthless and hard working on the one hand, Harry Gold remains a good person and a devoted husband, father and a friend.

The episodes became famous for another reason and many people who were sceptical about the show became its fans after seeing that actually it has been an expensive, time consuming and pricise work. With celebrities like Jessica Alba and 50 Cent, fans may enjoy the acting of some of the best actors and musicians (plus names from the directors elite) who actually play…themselves.

Entourage is a fascinating story about the success, the true friendship and love, about the relationships between people that we claim not to know anything about. It is a trip in the world of the celebrities revealing that they are actually normal people, with normal needs, people that have achieved everything with their talant and work.

After having watched The Girls Next Door, I felt that I got attached to the three girls staring in the show: Bridget, Kendra and Holly. This is why once the girls decided to go their separate ways and move out of the mansion, the natural thing for me to do was to start watching Kendra, Kendra Wilkinson’s spin off show.

Since the show was already in it’s second season when I started watching it, I binged on the first season watching 5-6 episodes a day. It was so sweet to see Kendra in love and about to get married, and I was so happy to hear she was pregnant. I started watching the second season of Kendra as soon as I finished the first one, and what shocked me the most was how much the pregnancy changed Kendra!

She went from a petite little sex kitten with a perfect sporty body who was going for weekely Medical micro-dermabrasion appointments to looking like a baby elephant. I don’t want to be mean as she is a great girl, but the stark difference from the last episode of season one to the first episode of season two completely shocked me. It was like looking at a completely different person. I wonder if everyone changes so much during pregnancy or if the weight change has to do with your genetics or the amount of food you eat during pregnancy? I know that you can’t be on a diet while pregnant but maybe it is not worth eating everything all the time?

I see that Kendra has made some progress in returning to her old shape since giving birth, and I do hope that she succeeds with that. Go on, Kendra, you can do it! You are a sporty sexy person so I hope that you won’t settle for anything but the perfect body you had.

I have followed this actor throughout my entire life. I have always found him almost like a super hero to me. Not only is this man an actor, but did you know he is also a producer, writer, director martial artist, guitarist and singer-songwriter? This to me is incredible. How many people do you know that have this many talents? Not too any in my case, I think it is an excellent use of multi-tasking skills. I mean I personally have trouble attempting to remember to buy baby girls clothing when I am out shopping for my children because I am too busy trying to balance my checkbook and figure out what to make for dinner.

Anyways, back to Steven. He was an aikido instructor in Japan in his early adulthood years and became the first foreigner to operate an aikido dojo. After that is when his acting career really took off. He is owner of Steven Seagal Enterprises where he is a recording artist and guitarist.

To top it all off, not only does he have many talents professionally, but he takes his personal life just as seriously. He is an animal rights activist and environmentalist. Spirituality is important to him as well as Buddhism. He sees himself as clairvoyant and a healer.

Would I want to follow in this man’s footsteps? Absolutely, and I actually have begun to do just that. I’m not a famous actor or anything, but I have been practicing the martial arts as well as guitar.

I get really fed up with paying for my television licence because there is such a terrible choice of programmes. The fee for a year’s TV is not exactly on the cheap side, although I wouldn’t begrudge paying it if there were a few decent things to watch. How did it all go so wrong? Years ago there was always something good to watch on the box, but now we are largely limited to ‘reality TV’, talent shows and sexed-up, Botox ridden American Buffy-esque style vampire dramas.

Over the last few weeks, I have slowly been wading my way through all 118 episodes of ‘The Saint’. Yeah, it’s dated (I’m still watching the black and white ones) but it always had a really clever story to it. The acting was good and it was full of amusing one-liners. Besides, Roger Moore was just so damn smooth as Simon Templar.

Television had some brilliant shows back then; ‘The Avengers’, ‘The Invaders’, ‘Danger Man’ and ‘The Prisoner’. Even Dr Who was a better programme than it is now. It’s really sad that everything had to change so much. We may not have had eye-popping special effects back then, but the shows were still superior. There was far more emphasis on story and acting rather than what could be done with CGI’s.

We also did not have this current obsession with graphic sex and violence in everything. Today’s soaps would never have been aired back then, let alone the present day’s post-watershed programmes. Characters still shot and bedded one another, but we didn’t need to see the finer details. Imagination ruled in the sixties and early seventies.

Unfortunately, the only way we can get to see many of those old classics from the television of yesteryear is by buying them on DVD. This is because many of them are no longer even repeated in today’s schedules.

So, call me a boring old fuddy-duddy, but I will stick with Templar. And when I have seen all 118 I shall move on to something else. There are certainly plenty of brilliant shows to see from back then.

Have you had the misfortune of seeing one of those Cash 4 Gold adverts yet? They really are very silly.

Who on Earth would send off their gold (or silver) and sell it for a pitiful amount of money via the post (I mean truly pitiful, not even enough for a new pair of asics running shoes)? Well, obviously there are some people out there who would or Cash 4 Gold would not be advertising their service. Hence, there really are some dumb people around… It’s all a bit worrying, isn’t it?

Apparently, if you ring them up, they will send you a ‘special’ bag (special? How?) to put your unwanted gold into.

Note: - If you cannot quite grasp this concept, then check out their commercial; it shows you someone demonstrating exactly how to use a ‘special’ bag…

After you have traversed the enormous learning curve of ‘dropping your unwanted gold into the ‘special’ bag’, you simply need to put it in the post. If this bit is a little too much to get your head round, then I’m sure that Cash 4 Gold will be more than happy to run you through it.

I wouldn’t have thought that there would be a great deal of unwanted gold around in the present economic climate. Mind you, I am still reeling from the knowledge that people really do send gold through the post.

Surely, if you do send your gold away like this (in the ‘special’ bag), then you aren’t going to get a whole lot of money for it in return. After all, Cash 4 Gold are doing this to make a profit; it isn’t a service they are providing out of the goodness of their hearts. Bearing this in mind, wouldn’t you be better selling any unwanted gold (or silver) on Ebay or in the classified ads of your local paper? You may not get to use a ‘special’ bag, but hey; when you think about it, all bags are pretty much the same, aren’t they?

It must be a nightmare being a celebrity, right? Yes, what a downer. All the money in the world—too much to reasonably spend in one lifetime, even—and people taking photos left and right–photos which you can, if you so wish, sue the people behind, thus bringing in a tidy bonus. Pull the other one: I’ve never believed the hype. Yes, it must be tough being a celebrity to an extent, but they do bring it on themselves. Us mortals have to suffer with government trying to tax every single penny we earn, while the celebrities have to worry about a flash going off. Personally, and it may just be me, I don’t see what all their whining is about.

One company that is developing somewhat of a celebrity status is Enigin—an international energy-saving company who are rapidly garnering a reputation as trailblazing leaders in their field. Something which is attracting considerable attention, and is talked about briefly in the following post.

I can see their point. What they are tying to do is clearly ahead of most companies games. While most companies shun the idea that Global Warming is even a problem—and many still refusing to believe that we did the damage—Enigin openly admit that we are to blame, and are doing their damndest to put things right. But clearly they can’t do this alone. Which is why they are screaming their heads off about it and trying to get you to join in the race to stopping climate-change.

David Cronenberg’s creepyily atmospheric film—from the novel by the original master of horror, Stephen King—sees Jonny Smith, a content New England</place /> school-teacher, leading a normal existence, alongside the love of his life he plans to soon marry. Until an accident puts him into a coma for five long years. On awakening nothing is what it was, yet everything is terrifyingly normal. Soon, Jonny realizes that this is the very least of his problems: something from the coma is apparently still with him, inside him, an eager force too powerful to suppress; what that is, exactly, he doesn’t know, but before long events spiral out of control as Jonny tries in vain to deal with whatever it is that now makes him special–

Similar as the concept of The Dead Zone may be to a number of other psychological horrors, the film–shot in the Greater Ontario area of Cronenberg’s native Canada–couldn’t be more different to the stock story-line of man overcoming a grim situation. The intriguing thing about Cronenberg’s foray this time is what happens at the half way point: because, remarkable and difficult as it is to pull off, The Dead Zone is actually two great films in one. Or, to be more accurate, two fascinating story-lines integrated into the same film.

Running through the film is a dark thread, sometimes looming like a black cloud, sometimes weaving its way through the plot as Jonny struggles with his new ’gift’. Martin Sheen is great as the presidential maniac that disturbs Jonny, plaguing him with visions of disaster, forcing him into a decision which will change the course of history forever. All that said, The Dead Zone somehow falls just short of being a classic. While it’s a great film, the depressing tone under-pinning the story may be just a bit too much for some audiences to take.

And now for an update on work for you all to critique, I have finally finished changing the images for the vaser liposuction London webpage. I am rather confused how I feel about this one, any remarks

Crime Drama: murders, stabbings, gun fights, assassinations—pretty much all the things us reasonable people tend to shy away from in our day to day lives. So how come we love it so much on the box? Because of the drama, I’d say, not because of the politics. But just like all good crime TV, Law & Order has its fair share of political influence.

Is there too much political agenda on TV? And could that be dangerous?

I understand this concern; after all, if the government wanted to sway us in a certain specific political direction, it’s going to be hard to do so by using a light-hearted comedy, isn’t it?

And now more than ever there is reason to believe we are being swayed. You can barely walk down the street without passing a conversation about the <country-region />Iraq</place /></country-region /> war and whether or not it should have gone ahead. Even if you’re at home, safely shut away from politics and out of view of the TV, a knock could come at any moment: a political candidate wanting to smile and show you the way.

But I suppose it’s always been there, hasn’t it? It’s just that we notice it more nowadays, because we have that many ways to access the media, and for it to access us.

And maybe political agenda isn’t a bad thing after all; by being exposed to it we think about it so much more, which is far better than the alternative, is it not? If that’s the price we have to pay then I think it’s a good thing; the more awareness we have, the more chance there is for us to re-assess our opinion and consider all the important factors.

David Dickinson: not a name that anyone under the age of fifty should have on the tip of their tongue. Maybe it’s just me, but I find the whole antique-show-taking-over-TV thing a bit disgusting. Every time I turn on the TV to watch the news I am assaulted by either D.D. or someone purporting to be a new kind of him.

I don’t recall the day it all began, but I suppose it had to have begun properly somewhere. And I wouldn’t even mind so much, but it’s not as if there are only two antique programmes on TV, is it? No, they seem to multiplying faster than Malaria, and with an effect almost as debilitating. To the point that I have to think twice about turning the TV on at all…

And what about the really important part of all this: young people, yes, young people–without a job, that is, because this is day-time we’re talking about–who should be out partying hard and doing a myriad of other things are on TV too, with Dickinson and his cohorts, trying to convince the youth to drag themselves out of bed every Sunday and race down to the nearest car boot sale.

Hello people of the world!: is this right? I’ve been to a few car-boot sales in my time and although they can sometimes be fun, majestic places, I feel uncomfortable with the idea that they are a place for the youth of today to prepare for the future. Will that really help them get along in life? The most of me highly doubts it, much as he loves old copies of Only Fools And Horses.

I’m struggling; at the start of this article I said to myself “think about this reasonably, present both sides of the argument.” So now I must try to do so, and it’s not very easy.

Aha! I think I may have found something, and here it is; yes, antique shows are a good thing after all! Because what else would be on TV if not that? I have a feeling it would be either Alan Titchmarsh or golf, or—deep breaths—perish the thought–a combination of both–

If we carry on like this, how long is it until we have television shows about permanent vet jobs that everybody watches during the day?

I laughed when I saw a Keeping Up Appearances forum topic over at the Universal-Playback forums that asked whether you could survive as the husband or even neighbor of the hilariously awful Hyacinth Bucket (pronounced, according to dear Hyacinth herself, Bouquet, with a rather falsely plumy English accent, for those not in the know).

When I was younger, I would sit and watch Keeping up Appearances with my parents, and we would all groan and shake our heads at Hyacinth’s awful, snooty behavior. Her wealthy sister apparently owns a property that has ‘room for a pony’, and this is a joke that has stayed in our household for many years since.

While Hyacinth is hilarious on the screen, and it’s highly amusing to watch her put on airs and try to hide the truth about her family, who is perhaps not quite as hoity-toity as she likes to pretend they are, I certainly feel a bit of sympathy towards her poor husband Richard, who is rather put-upon by his bossy wife. Neighbour Elizabeth unfortunately doesn’t fare much better, and it’s almost cringe-worthy to watch her forced expression of interest whenever our dear Hyacinth sails by.

While Hyacinth is definitely a character who works brilliantly on television, and she’s one whom I’d much rather preferred stayed there—it is, after all, nice to be able to switch her off when she’s in one of her moods!—the reality is that many of us do have a Hyacinth in our lives whom we have to deal with on a regular basis. Fortunately, though, I’m not in a position where I’m married to one, or am stuck with an over-friendly neighbor who likes to pretend that she’s someone she’s not—because I have a feeling that it would encourage me to make some major changes to my living arrangements!
